Pricing and Offer Ideas
What
can we charge?
The going rate is £35 for a single floatation session. This
makes an ideal gift offer as a voucher. You can then offer a reduction
for three floats, for example, for £75 to £90 or even
£60 for last minute bookings. It is a good idea to have
special introductory offers such as three floats for £45.
Monthly, yearly or other long term offers are also a good
idea, for example ten floats for £200 or £999 for one
float every week for a year. This can be reduced to, for example,
£600 for off peak times. There are many pricing possibilities.
What about free floats?
We now recommend a reduced rate, three float starting offer,
backed up by "buy one get one free" gift vouchers. This
is because experience shows that it can take three trials to get
the full benefits, and there is a higher repeat rate when
the first trial is paid for. Free floats for your local newspaper
and local radio reporters is worthwhile. Gift vouchers with
a free float for the purchaser are excellent ways to spread the
word.
What times are best?
There is an early evening peak, but as word gets around you can
fill all slots in a 12 or 14 hour day. Annual subscriptions
with weekly booking are good because you retain flexibility and
some customers will not arrive for regular slots.
How do I attract customers?
Floating is still new, so you will find it easy to get publicity
in local papers. Leaflet drops and local poster campaigns
are cheap and effective. We will list you for free on our
website which is getting better known all the time. If you
make an effort to please customers they will recommend their friends.
This is the best advertising. Offer them gift vouchers.
For a new centre, promotion is vital. Remember that
leaflet drops, like direct mail shots, always get very low returns,
1% to 1.5% is typical. You have to think in large numbers
to get results. Like all advertising, it is never a good idea
to rely on one placement. The promotion must continue regularly
to build up your recognition in the local area.
