Fertility Increased by Floating
Sep 2009
It is said one couple in seven has problems when they try for a baby. There are many reasons but one of the most important is also one we can help with - stress.
Floatation therapy is the most powerful stress relief technique known. For fertility treatment, we recommend for women, is a course of ten floats in a month, approximately every two to three days right through the fertile period. The degree of relaxation achieved is wonderful and will of course benefit you in many ways but if stress is the principal cause of your failure to conceive, then floating really is the best treatment.
Floating is easy, no skill is required and we offer special ten session prices to fit in with our recommendation for fertility treatment. It makes no difference what time of day you float because the effects last for two to three days.

Stress Buster Feb 2009
Floating turns out to be the best stress buster
Stress is not really new, we have always had worries and dangers. As we evolved with imaginations we inevitably came to get more stressed. Floating in warm water is not a new fangled idea. The way floating relaxes the muscles, opens the blood vessels, releases endorphins and calms the mind is as old as the hills. However bringing that relaxing environment right into our towns and cities is what a float tank has done for us. Now we have a tool to bust stress at home, at work, it's called a float tank. Research has proved it, thousands have experienced it, no drugs involved, it's simple relaxation at its very best. Let's float.
As we at Floataway say, "the simple state of floating in warm salty water is the most relaxing experience on Earth".

Stress linked to Dementia Jan 2009
Stress linked to Dementia
A major study over six years has shown that people who manage stress better are less likely to suffer from Dementia in old age.
We already know that floating reduces stress, in fact floating is the best way to reduce stress. So we can infer that floating regularly will reduce the risk of dementia.
Dr Wang at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden published his exciting results in the science journal Neurology (2009;72:253-259) and the news was flashed round the world including an article in the Financial Times (Jan 23 2009).
This is just one more confirmation of the importance of stress and stress management in our lives. The float tank is a proven and drug free therapy for stress. So many more people need to learn how a float session or a float tank in their home will improve their lives.
In Dr Wang's study, people who were calm and relaxed, had half the chance of developing dementia compared with people who were prone to stress and were socially isolated.
To find such a drop in dementia due to stress management is very significant and great news for the floating industry. It is another plus to add to the benefits of increased fertility, well being, anger management, pain relief, recovery from injury and so on. The list of benefits is a long list.
As we at Floataway say, "the simple state of floating in warm salty water is the most relaxing experience on Earth".

Couple Floating: Does it work?...Yes! Oct 2008
Couple Floating
Floataway has pioneered the new concept of couple floating by offering the Floataround and Cabin-for-two designs. In these float tanks two people can comfortably float together. It has proved very popular. First time floaters are sometimes reluctant to try floatation therapy. This reluctance is blown away by the offer of a float with your partner. So couple floating should be an important part of any float centre. Obviously there is a difference from floating alone but all the benefits remain exactly the same!
|
| |
The classical view was that floating must be a solo activity but think about that. Why? It's just because all the early float tanks, were designed for one person. Floaters often go on to float alone but as an introduction couple floating is perfect.

Triple jumper Phillips Idowu (GB)
PHILLIPS IDOWU has been banking on a flotation tank to sink his Olympic rivals.
The Londoner spent last year battling a back injury and the floating treatment has paid off.
Triple-jumper Idowu, 29, now goes into the Beijing Games as the only British athlete ranked No1 in the world.
He leaped 17.58 metres at the Olympic trials last month as he warmed up for his attempt to follow in the footsteps of world-record holder Jonathan Edwards and win gold.
He said: "Most days before I came out here I was in a flotation tank for about an hour."
"I started it last year and it really eases the pressure on my back. And itÕs very relaxing."

"It's been a great year," he told me. "It feels great performing at my best. I've already won a gold and it looks like I'm working through to another one. People have shown a lot of belief in me and it's great to pay them back.
"The word potential has been used a lot and there was a danger it was just going to turn to waste. I'm injury-free, world number one - I couldn't ask for anything else from a year for the Olympics."
He puts his success down to many things. Lying naked in the darkness of a floatation tank was one of them.
