Floataway Float Tank Salt
Floataway supplies the best available quality salt in unique 9.5 kg bags for easy lifting. It is possible to buy Epsom salt elsewhere but beware, there are several grades and the inferior grades will turn your water to brown mud because of impurities. Even the best salt has some traces of manganese but this is insignificant and is explained in great detail in our operator's manual.
The solution should be discarded and new salt and water added once a year in a busy tank, or once every two years in a centre running at 50% capacity. Some body chemicals are impossible to eliminate from the solution, and although they are present in miniscule amounts, full replacement is the only way to refresh the solution. This is our guideline it is not a regulation.
Enough salt for 300 float sessions is provided with each tank.

Disposable Filter
These 75 micron disposable filters last about 30 float sessions which collect particles smaller than can be seen by the naked eye. The advantage of the disposable filters over the washable type is that you do not need to clean them, so you save on time. The disadvantage is that they are more costly to use than the washable filters. Four disposable filters are provided with each commercial tank.

|
Washable Filter
These 50 micron washable filters can last up to a year if you alternate two filters together, one in the filter housing while the other is being washed. They can be washed in a washing machine with towels to prevent damage. However the economics are only favourable if you put no value on the time and trouble involved. In use they do not last as long as disposable types, maybe 10 float sessions. One washable filter is provided with each commercial tank.

Carbon Filter
The carbon filter is very effective for removing smells, including unpleasant odours and unwanted essential oils fragrances. However, this filter should be kept for emergencies because apart from being quite expensive, it removes disinfectant from the solution. Hopefully you will never need to use it, but it is good to have one in the cupboard for emergencies. One carbon filter is provided with each commercial tank.

Multi Function Test Strips
These are for chlorine systems and measure free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, total hardness and total chlorine. Full instructions are provided in our operator's manual. They have a shelf life of about one year, so do not buy too many at once. The pack contains 50 strips. If you forget to put the top back on you may get fifty identical results all at once, so take care! One tube is provided with each commercial tank using chlorine.
|
| |
|
Peroxide Test Strips
These strips only measure the peroxide level, because pH and other parameters are not required to be controlled with peroxide systems. The pack contains 50 single use strips. One tube is provided with each commercial tank using peroxide.

|
Water Treatment Chemicals
We provided three different child resistant tubs of water treatment chemicals for chlorine systems. These are for increasing total hardness, which helps to stabilise pH and for adjusting pH up or down, (adding chlorine slowly raises pH and it must be corrected). The packs will be enough for at least one year of operation of a busy float tank. One set of chemical is provided with each commercial tank using chlorine.

Surex Peroxide Granules
This is a very useful way to store and use peroxide, the solid crystals dissolve in water releasing free peroxide i.e. free oxygen ions. We recommend it for domestic use and for back up in dosed systems if you run out of liquid peroxide. It can be sprinkled directly into the tank or premixed in water for dosing with a pump. There is a small chemical residue but this is not significant when correctly dosed. Instructions for use are in our operator's manual. One tub of Surex is provided with each commercial tank.

Earplugs
We provide simple soft foam type earplugs which are disposable and come in tear open plastic bags of one pair at a time. Each box holds 250 pairs. A starter pack of 20 pairs is provided with each commercial tank.
|
| |
|
Neck Pillow
Our neck pillow is a simple inflatable type as used in travel, and is best partly inflated to provide support for the head. We recommend that new floaters be encouraged to use the pillow because they are often afraid to trust the water to support their head, and can thus get neck ache. This also keeps the ears out of the water. It will last a long time if cared for! One neck pillow is provided with each tank.

|
Density Checker
This device is a simple plastic tool which gives a easy-to-read indication of when it is necessary to add more Floataway salts. A density checker is provided with each tank.
|
| |
|
Silicon Grease
Silicon grease is provided in a small tube which should last a very long time, as it is only used on the filter housing O-ring once a month. A tube of silicon grease is provided with each tank.
|
| |
|
Spray Water Bottle
This small spray bottle hangs inside the tank to provide fresh water for the floater if he or she should splash some salt into their eyes. A spray bottle is provided with each tank.
|
| |
|
Spray Water Bottle Hook
This hook, which is provided with every tank, is for the above-mentioned spray water bottle.

Safety Equipment
Liquid disinfectant, whether chlorine or peroxide based, is bought in concentrations such as 2%, 3%, 8%, 14% or 30% solution. All of these are capable of bleaching your skin and clothing, and could damage your eyes if splashed, so you should take precautions when adding liquids to the tank or to dosing systems.
The basic requirements are goggles, gloves and aprons. You should also have training and safe procedures worked out for the task of disinfection, to avoid obvious risks.
