CONVERTING THE SKYLARK TO COMMERCIAL USE

It is possible for us to convert the Skylark float tank to make it suitable for commercial use but there are a number of factors which need to be taken into consideration.

Overall length : The Skylark is 20 cms (8 inches) smaller in length than our Tranquility tank. The waterline length is 210 cms (7 feet) as opposed to 230cm (7'8") in the Tranquility. This may not suit very tall customers and this cannot be changed.

The door : The door can not be motorised in the Skylark as it is in the Tranquility but it is double skinned to add stiffness and to allow the counter-balanced system to work. The Skylark door can be lifted off for easy cleaning. In the commercial specification it has additional stainless steel retainers.

Extra features :

Call attendant button : Strictly speaking, the only extra feature required by the regulations is the call attendant button. This can be added as an air-coupled switch with alarm control box as a remote fitting requiring just a low voltage, three-wire connection. The cancel button is fitted on the back of the tank or remotely. The internal tank lights come on automatically if the alarm is pressed.

However, we recommend that the following features should also be considered :

Commercial Pump control system : We recommend that our commercial pump control system be fitted to give a more effective filter cycles. This is a digital timer module so that the pump will run automatically and at programmable intervals. The standard Skylark tank pump is not automatically cycled.

Underwater speakers : The Skylark is not supplied with underwater speakers. These can be bonded to the tank during manufacture, as supplied with the Tranquility tank, but then it is necessary to run cables from the back of the tank to your reception area or to the spot where your CD player will be located. We do not supply external CD players on any of our tanks.

Intercom : A two-way intercom system can be added to either the Skylark or the Tranquility. This enables the floater or the operator to contact each other during a float session. This requires a cable which must run from the back of the tank to your reception area. If more than one option is selected, we supply a multi-way cable which covers all the options.

Auto-doser : Either model can be supplied with an automatic autodoser system for either chlorine or peroxide disinfection, with digital control. A small amount of disinfectant is added to the tank with each pump cycle. This amount can be regulated by a knob at the tank or by a digital timer remotely.

UV system: Either model can also be supplied with a 900mm UV filter system which is very useful with peroxide dosing (but unsuitable for chlorine). When the pump runs it circulates the water in the tank past the UV tube and back into the tank. If you choose UV, you must also have a peroxide autodoser, as UV by itself is not 100% safe. The UV only works while the pump is running, so it is best to have the remote control with cyclic timer too.

Remote control unit : The remote control unit is standard on the Tranquility but not included in the Skylark. It can be supplied on the Skylark which allows remote monitoring of the lights, the pump and the water temperature. It includes cyclic pump timing and a programmable session timer which sounds a call at the tank. It also controls the auto-doser pump cyclically if this option is chosen.

Spa Wand and Chemicals : are not included in the price of the Skylark.
